When I was little, I carried a secret pocket.

Not a real one stitched into my clothes — but the kind you tuck somewhere between your ribs and your imagination.

Inside it lived stories, characters, and a quiet knowing that life was meant to be met with curiosity and wonder.

For a long time, that pocket stayed closed.

Life happened.
Loss happened.
Healing happened.

And one day — when I was finally ready — the pocket opened
Out stepped a tiny, rainbow-winged muse who said, “Finally. You remembered.”That muse was AnuBel.

Janet illustrated the original AnuBel character and scenes, one of the three "Jady Island" girls in Newport Beach, CA - an island imagined in childhood that later gave rise to two businesses: first Jady Island Marketing and decades later, AnuBel.

The late Lucy, the little dog with a big spirit who helped to inspire the creation of AnuBel. Here she is walking at Bell Rock Trail, Sedona in 2022. She crossed the rainbow bridge in late 2024 assisted by a kind vet across the street from this magical vortex.

Still enjoying the playful adventure of life in my 60's.
